Returning to school

Hello lovely children and families

I know the decision to return to school has been a difficult one for you all. I know that you have tried to make the best decision for your child and your family. Please be reassured that I am here to help in any way I can whether you have decided to send your child back into school or keep them at home.

Mrs Berrington and Mrs Hostead have put together a 'social story' to help the children understand that school will be a very different place when they return but to reassure them that they will still be with familiar adults and children. Please share this story with your children and answer any questions they have (I can help answer any you are unsure about).

It will be a difficult transition for the children as they have grown used to learning at home for the past couple of months. In school I will be planning all activities for Elm class children regardless of which 'pod' they are in; myself and Mrs Rzepka will be communicating regularly regarding the children's emotional wellbeing.

Our focus when returning to school will very much be personal, social and emotional wellbeing. We will have lots of circle time, discussion, role-play and story telling to enable the children to process the changing situation.

Please contact me if you have any worries at all.

Best wishes
