Today we are going to be looking at the suffix "ous". We normally take off the 'e' at the end of a root word and add ous but in some cases if the root word has a 'g' that sounds like a 'j' the 'e' remains
Spelling word = courageous root word = courage the 'g' in courage sounds like a 'j' and therefore we don't remove the 'e'.
Spelling word = nervous root word = nerve Take off the 'e' and add ous
Work through slides 1-6 of the powerpoint. I suggest you write down your spellings on a piece of paper.
